Hey Bird Gang 👋

We are Malith and Mandy, Co-founders of ZapDigits. We both worked on Startups in Europe for the past 10 years. ZapDigits started as a solution to our own problem and quickly became something we realized many others struggle with too: keeping track of metrics across too many tools.

    Overall isnt ready to market

    I bought this today and was excited to use it with clients, but I quickly found several issues I didn’t like:
    It only shows data for up to 30 days, not 3, 6, or 12 months, which is strange.
    I connected Google Search Console, and even after 40 minutes, no data is loading. The board is stuck and shows no data despite being connected.
    I tested YouTube; very few metrics are available, and I can’t even change the chart type.
    The early bird description mentions “cutting edge Large Language Model Optimization (LLMO) analysis,” but there’s no AI SEO in the tool as described.
    Many important integrations are missing, especially key ones businesses need like social channels and Google suite products.

    Overall, this product needs a lot of work before it’s ready for customers. I’m going to request a refund since I don’t have the time or money to waste.

      Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m really sorry the experience didn’t meet your expectations. We’re still early and know some features and integrations are missing, but we’re moving quickly based on feedback like yours.
      Our support chat is always available to help with setup or connection issues. We tested Google Search Console on our side and it is working, so it may have been a temporary issue or something we could have helped troubleshoot. When we launched on Earlybird we had 8 data sources, and within a month we’ve already expanded to 15. We also maintain a public roadmap at https://www.zapdigits.com/roadmap
      where you can see what we’re working on and send feature requests. Extended date ranges, additional integrations, chart options, and AI-powered SEO analysis are all in progress.
      I completely understand if ZapDigits isn’t the right fit for you today. Your feedback helps us improve faster and we’d love for you to check back once more of these features are live.

    I have high hopes

    Only four items have arrived in the Google Search console data so far. I’m waiting for facebook meta data to become active. I don’t know which data will be retrieved. Will Google Analytics data arrive? For now, I’m just waiting for the number of data sources to increase. But I need to be able to organize this data. It seems confusing right now.I hope you will be very successful. It would be a great luxury to track all the data in one place.

      For Google Search console now we have these metrics: Country Breakdown, Device Breakdown, Top Queries, Average Position, Average CTR, Total Impressions, Total Clicks.
      But we will add more. We are always available on the support chat if you like to speed up some requests. And currently we are working on Google Analytics data source. You will get an email update as soon as it is available. Thank you for being an early supporter.

Do you offer an API, so we could build custom adapters? E.g. when I use another tech stack (not Supabase) I would like to send an event when a new user signs up and see a chart on the dashboard.

Hi Tim, You can already do this in our custom event tracking. Here is the help article: https://help.zapdigits.com/article/36-custom-event-tracking

You can send a sign up event and this will show up in the Analytics page but you can also add this metric to the dashboard. In the future we will add lot more metrics that you can play around.

Regarding the API, We already have planned this in our roadmap: https://www.zapdigits.com/roadmap, your use case is very valid one for the API and we can speed up the process from our side.

-will this tool connect with more data sources rapidly whats the timeline looking like? as a reference, a tool Ive used and like: https://www.geckoboard.com/product/data-sources/ I really like their connections for marketing, social media, and project management + analytics alternatives to Google Analytics as some people have dumped GA, to use other more data privacy respectful tools like Matomo & Umami.

Great questions, Thank you.

-Hows the sustainability of your product looking for the long-term?

Our current spend is very low and it is paid by our MRR. We did a very successful ProductHunt launch (https://www.producthunt.com/products/zapdigits) and most of the paid customers came from there.

-Is there dark-mode available?

This is something i really want as a developer haha but we were focusing on most requested features by users. But this will be implemented in the future.

-do you have TV display mode?
Yes we have beautiful present mode in the dashboards

-Will this tool connect with more data sources rapidly whats the timeline looking like?

Our product launch was just a month ago but after that we already added 6 more data sources. Our main goal is also to get all the data sources that users requested. You can check our roadmap ( https://www.zapdigits.com/roadmap ) for the upcoming data sources. For example Meta ads development is done but waiting for meta to approve our app. Instagram is the same.

What are Analytics Events? Can you provide examples of what exactly is counted as them and what happens if, for example, 200,000 are exhausted?
And what are the limitations for SEO Audit on the website (how many pages can be analyzed)? Number of tracked keywords?

Hey There,

These are the default events:

pageview – Initial page load
click – Regular clicks
rage_click – Rapid clicking on same element
quick_back_click – Quick successive clicks
dead_link_click – Clicks on non-functional links
scroll – Scroll milestone reached
page_hide – Page becomes hidden
page_show – Page becomes visible
page_unload – User leaves page

But you can also add custom events:
custom – Custom events via analytics.track()

The 200k events will renew every month so this is not a hard limit on total even usage. If you exceed we would most likely proceed with credits. Currently we are discussing this internally.

For SEO, one page is supported per project but you can create multiple projects to audit more pages or websites. But we are working on adding more page audits in the same projects.

For keywords the limit is 10 per project. But this might increase in the future.

I will try to answer all the questions here:
1. Why is there no connections for Google products like Google Analytics, Search console, Adwords?

We have our own Analytics and SEO features so it is not necessary to connect GA or Google Search Console. But we are working on Adwords data source. The approval process of google apps taking longer for us to release this feature.

Currently we are gathering feedbacks like this one from you and will add more connectors in the future.

You can change the chart/graph on some of the data. It always depends on the metrics but we are working on adding more and more types of charts that works on most of the metrics. Same about the colors. We will add this feature in the future.

This always depends on the data. Do you have any examples?

5. Can dashboards be shared as public links without giving user access?
Currently you can invite people as a viewer but they need to sign up or log in. But we have sharing without login feature planned on our roadmap already.

6. Can we style dashboards for clients by adding client logos change background color of dashboard with hex color to match client colors?

Not currently but we might add in the future. We have some of the white-labelling features planned in our roadmap. For example automated reports where your clients can get email with your own email will coming soon.

For GA or Google Search Console please consider adding as a customer I dont want to be forced to add your script on my site when Im already tracking website analytcis with GA or Google Search Console for clients.

Can we allocate our limits per site instead of having a fixed limit per site? For example with tier 2 we have 10 sites with 50k events per month (10*50k = 500k). Suppose we only have 2 sites(8 unused), can we instead allocate 250k each or even 200k and 300k?

I manage multiple websites for various clients and want to measure as many metrics as possible. Is it necessary to connect to a Google account? I don’t have access to all my clients’ Google accounts. What guarantees do we have that Zapdigits privacy-first? For Europeans like me, this is very important. How can you guarantee and demonstrate that Zapdigits’ tracking cookies are not loaded before the website visitor gives consent? We obviously want to avoid fines. Love to hear it.

Hi Mark, Not all the cases but for data source like Google Search console there is a hard requirement from google that the owner has to connect their account. One possibility is, you can invite your client to the project and ask them to connect the account once. But if you want to use our own Analytics and SEO then there is no need to connect a Google account.

For tracking we don’t use any cookies. We benefit from browser session storage and cookie is used mainly for sharing data with other scripts which we are not doing and not planing to do. You can read more about our security approach in this page: https://www.zapdigits.com/security
