About Me?
I’m Alex, and together with Adrian and Alexis, we created AgainstData.com. We were all born and raised in Romania, an Eastern European country with a complicated past. Before 1990, Romania was under communist rule, tightly controlled by the Secret Service, which knew everything about everyone. Privacy didn’t exist, and that lack of trust scarred society deeply.
Fast forward to 2024: Romania is no longer a communist country, but privacy issues persist—this time, on a global scale. Many of us feel like we’ve lost control of our digital selves. Thankfully, laws like GDPR and CCPA have given us new rights to reclaim our data privacy. We built AgainstData.com to make those rights accessible to everyone.
How did we come up with AgainstData.com?
AgainstData.com was born out of frustration. Unwanted emails flooded our inboxes to the point where we had to abandon some accounts entirely. Companies harvested our data without consent, and both of my parents’ bank accounts were compromised.
We desperately needed a solution—and when we couldn’t find one, we decided to create it.
What problems do we solve?
We focus on two big issues:

2️⃣ Cleaning your data trail
Spam is a massive problem: Half the world’s emails are spam, and in my inbox, it’s 85%! Constant email alerts are a drain on focus, but ignoring email isn’t an option in today’s world. That’s why we created a solution to help you unsubscribe from unwanted emails and bulk delete old ones.
Data security is just as critical: 26% of internet users have faced credit card fraud or know someone who has. Data leaks, hacks, and scams are inevitable when over 300 companies hold your personal information. Our solution helps you identify and delete your personal data from companies you no longer use.
